Leisure battery - to vent or not to vent?
Discussion
I have been given a lightly used 110aH Leisure battery for my van conversion. It is the vented type that comes with a thin plastic tubing.
Is it necessary for this to be vented via a hole cut in the van? If I can get away without it being done like that, it saves me buying a new, sealed battery. If not, I'll just get a sealed one.
Cheers.

Any sealed battery you buy is still likely to have a vent system.
Really? I've not seen a single van build that has had to vent their leisure battery.gman88667733 said:

I didn't say you had to vent, but it would be incorrect to generalise and say that sealed batteries don't have a venting system, nor that venting such a battery would never be required / recommended.
Okay. So would I be required to vent a bog standard sealed battery? To be fair (and whilst the chances of a problem might be minimal), I don't think it would be wise for an unknown on the internet to make that decision for you.
