I have question need thoughts please

I have Boxter 3.4 ltr, 40.000 miles no oil leaks, no oil smells can’t see any oil traces on exhaust, no tell tale blue smoke behind, however I seem to be using lot of oil has any one any thoughts

Please I need advise

How much is a lot? Porsche (and most manufacturers) state that 1l per 1000 miles is acceptable but personally I'd be concerned if my car was using that much.

Assuming that it is a gen1 987, the AOS maybe worth a look but failing that, things might start to get a little expensive

Oh dear. It's a 3.4 Gen 1. You might be lucky, and have an AOS (Air-Oil seperator) failure. Or you may have bore scoring. I really hope for your sake that it isn't bore scoring, but with that engine it's a high probability.

You need to take the car to an Independent Porsche specialist to get it looked at.

Hi thanks for your help just one thing if I have scoring would I not see blue smoke as I am getting none nor is engine performance down
