Were these prawns off?
Discussion
Aldi Argentinian frozen ‘whole’ prawns, (about 1.5 finger lengths each). Into our own freezer about 20 minutes after purchase and still thoroughly frozen when I got them out this evening.
Upon pulling the heads off there was what can only be described as a slug-like substance running from head to tail, which was most unlike the usual prawn s
t-sack that you’d expect to find.
Prawns de-shelled and minging s
t-sacks cleaned out of each prawn, leaving behind a slimy, pale brown residue along the spine of each prawn, although the prawns didn’t smell in any way ‘off’.
Deciding not to take any risks with shellfish, I binned them rather than risk eating them, (much to the disappointment of my two cats who had eyed up an easy treat). I’m now wondering if I had perhaps over reacted?
Sadly no pictures, so you’ll just have to use your imagination, unless you want me to do a really crap rendering on Microsoft Paint?
Any thoughts? Was I being paranoid or does it sound like these prawns had sinister intentions?

I vote for "Were these prawns off?", not an abbreviation of "We are these prawns off?", which makes no sense.
To be fair that's probably a phone autocorrect fail.Edited to add: I am sure I will get flamed for this, but i bugs me when people say "It was the [insert device]'s fault."

At this point I need to trudge wearily to the "Things that annoy you beyond reason" thread. Why is that "fair"? To me, it's a failure to check what you're about to post fail. Blaming it on the phone is lazy, and abrogates responsibility to an insentient machine.

Europa, I take full responsibility for not checking my phones auto-correction of the thread title. That error was mine and mine alone. Edited to add: I am sure I will get flamed for this, but i bugs me when people say "It was the [insert device]'s fault."
I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me for such a grammatical faux-pas. I will endeavour to do better next time.
Anyway, these prawns?

Must be the thicko operator that types “i bugs me”.At this point I need to trudge wearily to the "Things that annoy you beyond reason" thread. To me, such gramatical errors are purely a failure to check what you're about to post fail. If Europa blames this on his phone, then that would be lazy, and abrogates responsibility to an insentient machine.

Must be the thicko operator that types “i bugs me”.It was probably his phone's spellcheck, poor dear.
