Concorde - special paint job

I'm trying to find a picture of concorde taken years ago. It was specially painted for some reason. If memory serves right it was blue at the front blending through darker blue to red....or something like that.
Is this a figment of my imagination or did this happen.

Anything Gordon Roxborough doesn't know about Concorde isn't worth knowing.
I think someone did do a Photoshop Jobby on a Concorde once. Ask there.

During its life, Concorde carried a limited number of paint schemes - most of them basically all white for the reasons mentioned above.
The prototypes had a thin red line along the windows with a blue panel on the fin and the name Concorde in white on the blue panel. One pre-production plane carried the original BA scheme (G-BBDG) and another carried Air France's old blue cheatline scheme with the blue chevron on the fin.
When they entered service, they were painted in the respective BA and Air France colours. Air France introduced their current scheme way back in 1976 and this was carried on their Concordes right up to retirement. BA had three colour scheme changes during the period from 1976 to 2003 and Concorde carried all three schemes - modified slightly for Concorde's supersonic role.
For a brief perid in 1979, some BA Concordes had one side of their fins painted in the logo of the Texas airline, Branniff International during a short lived tie-up with that airline. A year or so later, a similar policy was adopted when BA ran some services to Singapore and one side of a number of aircraft was painted in Singapore Airlines colours. The only other odd scheme I recall is the Pepsi one.

When i look out of my office window, i can see Concorde parked on the runway at Heathrow in a "HAH! Look what we (used to be able to) do!!" stylee.

Yep I see it everytime I land at Heathrow, a real shame as it just looks abandoned, what is the story behind that one ?

Dunno, but I reckon BA and Air France should have let Richard Branson buy some of the fleet. The concorde was the pinnacle of commercial aviation and I bet he could have made concorde profitable.

I though the problem is that Airbus decided to withdraw their support which is key to the survival of Concorde. If BA can't keep one in the air, I fail to see how a continually grandstanding Branson will.

Two reasons AFAIAA: 1. No room in the hangars
2. (and more importantly) It is on show to all who come through Heathrow. "Flipping an aeronautical bird" i think the term is

matt black would be better for heat dissipation406 - wrong. In the very early days of the programme (1962/63 period) there was some discussion as to which would be the correct spelling of the word. It was agreed eventually by both parties that it should be "Concorde".
Real Concordes(as opposed to artists impressions) have only featured the word with the letter "e" at the end.
