Porsche PCM 2.1 heed unit (screen & Sat nav) issues
Discussion
Hi Guys, looking for some help with 2 issues that have suddenly appeared
First : A green line has appeared down the left hand side of the screen on the head unit on my 997.
Second : when trying to view the maps & instigate the sat nav, it’s not firing up & all i’m seeing is the screen you can hopefully see below if the image loads properly,
I've removed & cleaned the disc & there appears to be no scratches.
So i’m wondering in relation to my 2 issues .
1: Is the screen repairable ?
2: Has anyone experienced the same issue with the sat nav & is there any way to test the:
Head unit
dvd reader in the boot
or the disc
In order to try & ascertain what the problem is ???
Anyway thanks loads for your help .

I’ve just found this post via a search. I’ve got exactly the same problem with my PCM head unit. A line down the screen and what looks like the image shifted sideways and split by the green line.
Occasionally I get the navigation failed issue but the screen is now permanently stuck with this problem which makes it unusable for navigating anyway. The submenus are unreadable and a factory reset does nothing except lose the radio station settings.
It still plays radio and CDs ok. I’m planning on removing the Dension iPod adapter that’s fitted in place of the CD multiplayer but I’m not convinced it will solve the problem
