Renting with 2 dogs

Due to an imminent need to rent in order to get a UK credit rating to fund a house purchase following relocation I am conscious that most houses say no pets. We have 2 beagles which whilst very excited don’t do as much damage as we have read from other families.
In order to convince a landlord to take us in for 6 months I was planning of offering an additional £500-£1000 damage bond but obviously would prefer not to...
Anyone have any more ideas or solutions to renting with pets or convincing landlords etc?

There are landlords that take pets, but you will be limited. Going to be the case of signing up with all the agencies and advising you have dogs.
Also try OpenRent as these are properties you deal directly with the landlord.
We rent a new build and was lucky that the landlord accepts dogs.

Ah this is pistonheads, I expect to have to filter any replies...and yes I have tried to lose the dogs (strange comment given this is the animals pages) but the rest of the family disagrees for some reason!
Good tip for Zoopla I will have a look at that and seems an inflated deposit is the way to go here.

There are rentals available for people with pets. I rent my flat and two of the “must haves” were that dogs were allowed and there was a private garden. Obviously, depending on where you’re looking will have an effect on what’s available.
I didn’t initially have much luck just registering/calling agents, but had much more success with actually physically going into the various agents. There will be properties out there, I guess you just have to “sell” yourself to the agents/landlords.
Keep plugging away, there will be something, but you might have to compromise on area/property/price.

Also, if you find somewhere which says they allow dogs, make sure there isn't an issue with doing so in terms of any leasehold agreements or similar (there was a thread on here recently where someone rented a place but another resident complained about their dog because it wasn't permitted in the property and the agent never said anything to them at the outset).

You won’t be doing an increased deposit. That would be a prohibited payment under TFA2019. You could offer an increase in the rent. The main thing is to be obviously decent people, and to find the non-lazy agent(s) in your town who recognise that it’s never pets who are the problem - just the people. Decent people will look after their pets and put right any damage.

What they may possibly have done is (somehow) counted all the dogs in the UK, including hunts and suchlike which may have 50 or a 100 and then divided by the number of households in the country.
