Your Favourite Band

What is says on the tin, really; and maybe a difficult subject (it was for me on my lunch break earlier today).
What is your favourite band of all time?
Feel free to post reasons why, but not strictly necessary as everyone enjoys what they enjoy when it comes to music. Maybe add a link to a favourite video of said band.
I toyed with the following:-
Pearl Jam
Led Zep
Black Sabbath
Smashing Pumpkins
Megadeth
Underworld
Eventually, I couldn't get away from Soundgarden:-
Cornell's soaring vocals, with Thayil's inventive guitar work and altered tunings, with Ben and Matt's locked down rhythm section were irresistible. Odd time signatures and unexpected chord progressions added so much flavour. The following is my favourite example of their style:-

I'll second that. They must be one of the best bands ever. So many bands do a few good songs, or maybe a few good albums, and then go on to make loads of boring dirge, but SLF just always made good music

Probably Iron Maiden for me also, I have tattoo's of Eddie on my right arm. (Never get your arm pit done Favourite of the last 5 or so years - Slugdge
)My uncle took me to see them in Manchester on the Brave New World Tour, I was 12 at the time, iirc. I'm 32 now and have since travelled abroad to see them many a time, Chile in October last year being the furthest distance.
I don't listen to them as often as I used to but that Manchester gig, along with a borrowed copy of Hybrid Theory, got me in to rock and metal and helped make me the person I am today with respect to the things I've done, decisions I've made and such forth.
"Current" favourite band is a tough one, I currently have a lot of love for Code Orange, Deafheaven and Venom Prison, Ghost too, I've really enjoyed their cheesy carry ons and story telling alongside the music.
The Stranglers. I wasn't really into them when they were really popular, mainly because I was about 10 and wouldn't have been allowed to listen to "that kind of music". But I was aware of the stuff on the radio, and for some reason I was in Woolworths on a family shopping trip, my sister was buying a record so I had to have one as well, and picked "Live (X-Certs)" from the bargain bin as it was the only band I recognised. Hooked from then on. It was particularly interesting to listen to because we only had one record player, my Dad's stereo in the living room. There are some parts of that live album that aren't what I'd have chosen to listen to with parents.
Either....
The Doors (would have loved to see them! proper Rock'n'Roll rebels of their time but with three fantastic, complementary musicians)
....or....
Wishbone Ash (the band I have seen the most times, and whilst they weren't necessarily "original" in their structure, they were the first to pull together some great ideas that have since been copied plenty of times - all derived from taking typical brass section harmony ideas and re-ordering that for two lead and one bass guitar....so simple, so effective...bit blues, bit jazz, but always rock)

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard
I became aware of them about four years ago and it's now hard to me to imagine how they could be toppled.
They have made a lot of excellent music in the 10 years they have been active so far, including at least a few albums that I would describe as 'great albums'.
They are the widest ranging band I am aware of in terms of musical style which makes them exciting to follow and always fresh.

Has to be Rush for me - been my go to music since 1978. Completely get that they are a marmite band for some but that tends to relate to Geddy's voice more than anything else. Their virtuosity on their respective instruments and how 3 people can make such complex but tight music is what never fails to get old
