Anybody know of a good source for a replacement boot catch for a 96 grif?

Mine has given up the ghost and is falling apart, could also do with a replacement lug that fits into the catch too (if these aree the right terms to use!)

tvrcarparts.com or bell hill breakers
How on earth did you break them without snapping the boot lid in two?!

Think he means the metal bits, not the electric bit.

Seem to remember the mechanism on an old MK2 Escort being the same but I may be wrong.

The problem is with the metal catch not priming itself to 'catch' the boot when it closes. It sloses fine, ubt you can pull it open. Everytime I want to boot to lock I gave the catch mechanism a shove with a key.

It does look that the lock hasbeen 'fixed' before that could be causing the problem. (Solanoid works fine)

WIll look into the escort route.

It may be most Ford's of that era using the same catch - maybe even early Sierra???? Worth a trip to the local tatters yard.
