Help! Need a ladies gold watch
Discussion
One of my staff member is 65 soon. She is properly amazing. Life blood of the firm. Want to get her a lovely gold watch. New or second hand. She’s got slender wrists so needs to be a small one. Happy to spend up to around £2k. Running out of time. Would like to collect so I can check it over. Oxfordshire/Gloucestershire area. Gold is maybe a bit in the past now and maybe that’s why I’m struggling but it’s what she wears.

Thanks so much for the replies. A Rolex in budget would be amazing but might well be a bit battered at this price point!
New does sound like the way to go though - and hadn't thought about a gift receipt - great shout. Will try to find some time I think to head into Westgate in Oxford tomorrow - couple of nice jewellers there.
Really appreciate the responses.

Agreed re a Rotary but i'm sure the link was just an example of a small gold watch in the price region and I hadn't thought to ask for a gift receipt so a good tip. Even if she doesn't wear it i'm hoping it will give her a bit of a sense of how highly I value her - although I tell her all the time. I guess I probably have to find something that I like at least and hope she does too - and if she doesn't then at least with a gift receipt she can choose herself something else.
Odd that so few came up on online searches - Chrono, Watchfinder etc. I guess tastes move on. Massively stereotypical of me to choose a gold watch as a 65th pressie but at least it isn't a retirement gift (I hope!).

You can get a really really nice TAG automatic for you budget. Not gold, but gold looks pants unless its a ££,£££ watch
Indeed, something like this....https://www.watches-of-switzerland.co.uk/TAG-Heuer...
The Tudors are lovely watches and I've no idea if a watch is something she wants but it's all I can think of. She wears a small gold watch and has gold rings so just going on that really. She's quite a traditionalist though. Loving that second Tudor listed - might get that for my wife at some point!
Moose - a watch from 1955 is what i'd thought of too - great shout - can't easily find one though and running a bit short of time. I'll have a browse this afternoon.
I guess i'll have to think of something else if I can't find a watch I like - no idea what - I know I should have got something sorted way before now though!

You won't get a new solid gold watch for that. Or good-name gold-plated.
How about: https://www.cartier.co.uk/en-gb/collections/watche... that would be a lovely present.
