Another Unused RS Flipped
Discussion
I thought there was a post on here about this car last year and how it was a keep forever car, might be wrong but seem to remember it
https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/10643708?c...
Now looks like it was stored up to be sold with just 22 miles
Seems there were a good few PH er's who talked with outrage about flippers only to be those very flippers!

The problem is that you can’t drive it as the premium is because it has delivery miles. I generally do factory pickup and do several thousand miles on each RS including hard track visits within two weeks. Looking at the car as a display object would drive me nuts. As was previously stated I also prefer the bright colours.

Not my idea of an RS colour.I much prefer vulgar outrageous colours on GT cars
I like the darker green myself, actually having my 720s done in a similar Ferrari green at Litchfield later this month...can't wait to see how it turns out. From what I've learnt recently lenders are very nervous about funding the overs on GT products with COVID uncertainty and a new GT3 coming out soon. That silver car at Imperials is keenly priced....ok no extended leather but in the height of summer with other cars shifting you'd have seen it move if funding was simpler.

It’s very nice though.
Agree really nice, if money was no object I would buy it and use it despite it not having a manual gearbox. The nicest RS I've seen all IMO
The PTS colour is nice but the seat inserts do not fit a car primarily at home on the race track. It is as if the original owner could not make his mind up of what this GT3 RS should represent. Race track or collector/cruiser. I can’t see that overs for these cars are here to stay.
Too many off them and the next model will be faster still.

Have to disagree with you there, I think the seats look fantastic. Too many off them and the next model will be faster still.
I think what the original owner was thinking about is that he had a PTS slot and wanted this car to represent the biggest return possible

I’m not convinced on the exterior colour to be honest, looks like a clone of the millionth 911 in that green with a hint of 911R splashed across the interior !
I like the green on the millionth car and love the seating from the R, but not both together in a mismatched combo.
Personally I’d take Lava Orange in the RS, with no PCM

As we all know, the complete GT & overs game has left many folk disgruntled and fretful.. However, there is often a flip side to this re current and recent advertised unused RS's Chatting to a few owners recently has opened my mind somewhat. Ok, there would still appear some initial profit, in particular the 991.2 RS WP cars, but what we often are unaware of or indeed dismiss, is the 'rocky' journey some of these fortunate? first owners endured to get the Willy Wonker golden ticket order.. https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/10643708?c...

Multiple unwanted car purchases, massive price hikes on other bits dealers wanted shot of etc To give £20-25K overs to secure one today may grate -but bear in mind, some first owners would need £50-100k premium just to come out evens..
Incidentally - I'm liking a bit of loud Didnt bother looking at yellow before Now cant stop looking at yellow
I think a lot of people end up there organically.
End of the day we aren't all made of money, if I had a 0 miles WP car sitting in my garage and I knew that using it would basically burn through a massive pile of potential value (money that I likely already spent on beige Macan's and 718s) I can imagine I would find it hard to use it. The experience would sour over time and perhaps I'd end up moving it along.
This is why I've gotten to the point of trying to look for cars that have miles and have eaten a lot of depreciation so that I don't feel sick taking them out.

I think PTS actually stands for Porsche To Sell !
Personally think it’s a fantastic looking car. Hopefully the new owner uses it rather than sticks it in a garage and polishes it.
PTS British Racing Green would have been my first choice on a PTS slot had i been offered one..Still happy with my Black one but i's swap it for a PTS BRG in an instant..
With regards to these special RS WP cars i suspect well over 75% are no longer with their original owners which makes the guys who genuinely wanted one to own, drive and enjoy them in the minority..Still prefer to buy low mileage, well specced Ferraris for £80-100K under original list price as opposed to paying premiums for 'flipped' cars, which only feeds these greedy flippers insatiable appetites for more new halo Porsches..
I make it no secret that i hate these flippers as my OPC only knows too well..

I think the reason so many have been flipped is because you really need to be at the top of any OPC’s client list to get a build slot for a PTS GT car...and we all know what those relationships require.... not just the purchase of the odd Panamera or Cayenne. Although the fact this one ended up at JZM probably means the customer had the last laugh....no splitting the overs with the OPC means no more special cars.
