Taking the current Mrs J to Anglesey next week. About 280 miles door to door then a week of exploring Anglesey / Snowdonia etc

Head says take the eTron. Effortless journey in relative comfort. Quick charge at the 150kw charger in Brum and our hotel has charging points. Likely the Audi's size would be a headache when we start to explore some of the b-roads and it does little to raise the pulse.

Heart says take our JCW Roadster. Journey there would be a bit of a chore but the Welsh roads with the roof down in the snorty Roadster would be a hoot.

Decisions decisions - this could come down to heads or tails !

Definitely the Roadster.

The last ever journey we made in our (remapped Cooper S) Roadster just before we traded it in
for an i3s was a big loop round the Lake District taking in Hard Knott/Wrynose passes on a day
like today (warm weather, not a cloud in the sky) ...

...it was absolutely epic and the 'mini Mini' was perfect for those roads!

As far as I can recall, North Wales roads are similar (even the A Roads can be pretty narrow).

!
lol I take it you've not heard any of the reports or seen any of the pictures from Snowdonia or Anglesey?

I can assure you you'll be spending a week driving along some excellent b-roads in an endless convoy of gormless tourists and be lucky to get over 30 mph, only to find that there's no chance of parking at any of your destinations when you get to them.

Yeah, saw the pics of peeps abandoning their cars in Snowdonia. Will try and avoid the gormless ones - they don't sound great.

Snowdonia is a pretty big place and the passes which get clogged up are fairly well known and easy to avoid.

Weather will probably be rubbish anyway...

It's actually a triple wammy when it comes to gormless drivers in Anglesey and Snowdonia...

-Gormless tourists driving everywhere at 30mph and generally acting like they're driving around in a theme park and think nothing of stopping in the
middle of the road to admire a view or decide which way to go.

-Gormless locals driving everywhere at 30mph who have never seen a traffic light and have no concept whatsoever as to how to negotiate a roundabout
and also think nothing of stopping in the middle of the road to have a chat with their mate coming the other way.

-Gormless retiree incomers driving everywhere at 30mph and stopping in the middle of the road... for no particular reason just because, well they're
pensioners and that's what they do.
