The scenario I have is that own 22 domain names, all are .co.uk but only 5 are active - the remaining 17 all resolve back to one of the 5.

All of the domains are registered with Fasthosts who currently provide domain, DNS management and email hosting, with the nameservers pointing at Cloudflare for web resolution/caching etc. (the sites are hosted either by Shopify or on a dedicated server)

Any recommendations for a reliable host to provide;
Domain and DNS management (I'll be keeping the nameservers pointed at Cloudflare)
Email: one mailbox for each of the five main domains, along with catch-all functionality

My dedicated server is via OVH, with whom I've had no issues in the last three years, but I've never looked at their email hosting options. I've been with Fasthosts for 5 or 6 years now so completely out of the loop with who is any good these days

Thanks

I eventually landed up using google @ https://domains.google.com/registrar for very similar, you can save money splitting and using smaller ones, but depends on hassle factor.

I'd stick with Cloudflare for DNS.

You can use Cloudflare as a registrar on paid plans but I don't know if you can do it on a free plan?

If not look at AWS or Google.

For email I'd look at 365 or GSuite.

I've used AWS for all my Domains / DNS and pointed to MS365 for email. No complaints at all.

If you’re already using Cloudflare as a HTTPS reverse proxy you may as well move your DNS zone management there - all you need then is a registrar which lets you designate Cloudflare’s DNS servers as authoritative for your domain.

I do exactly this with Fasthosts as registrar and Cloudflare for everything else. The only time I login to Fasthosts is when a domain needs renewing and payment details need updating.

Thanks all, I'm playing with Google G Suite at the moment, it's looking pretty slick so far, just looking at how to have multiple domains under one admin account but also have email catch-alls per domain.

Will also set up an Exchange account and see what I can do there as well

Fasthosts are claiming that they have received a chargeback for the most recent invoice (if they have, it wasn't initiated by me and isn't showing up in my bank account) so they have summarily suspended all services and no-one is around until tomorrow morning to discuss it.

I have a similar setup - domains are registered using TSOHost (from when they were good!) with DNS on Cloudflare. I'd move the domains to Cloudflare but they still don't provide registrar services for .uk domains.

Thanks for the all the replies, I've now moved all of the domains to Google and all email has been moved to G Suite. Cloudflare was already providing 90% of DNS so this was a good excuse to tidy it all up.

All relatively painless, and considerably cheaper than the Fasthosts package I was on which is a nice bonus!
