350i starts run ok drive about 10 miles till warm,swtich it off go to start after 20 mins or so ,runs lumpe drive it for 3/4 miles starts to run great again,feels its runing to rich then clears its self, am useing a ranger rover ecu on it,

Is your cold start injector disconnected? If it isn't it may be running when it shouldn't or leaking into the manifold so try disconnecting it and see if it cures the problem.

Could also be the temperature sender for the ECU giving false readings. There's lots of fault finding info for the V8 here http://www.vintagemodelairplane.com/

+1 for CTS, test it when it goes lumpy, check the resistance.
