Hi,

Has anyone got any experience with the colour calibration thingy?

Particular questions being:

1, What is the difference between the Spyder2 and Spyder2 Pro?
2, Does the calibration tool affect gamma, contrast AND brightness or only the gamma stuff? Or, indeed, what does it do?!

Any help would be gratefully received.

Cheers,
Phil.

If I remember rightly, the PRO version comes with an extra bit of software to setup the brightness/contrast of the monitor before running the calibration software itself. I'll look it up when I get 5 mins to confirm.

Hmm, couldn't find the page I had in mind. But comparing the Spyder2 and the Spyder2PRO Studio it seems the differences are that the studio has (in addition to the normal Spyder2): multiple monitor support, whitepoint correction, Automated black and white luminance adjustments, custom response curve targeting, colorimeter and information windows, custom targeting, ICC 2.0 and 4.0 support, plus some extra software.

I have the 2 Pro Studio, very good piece of kit which I use to calibrate all my monitors, and some other people's besides...

Would definitely recommend it.
