As we're approaching the end of summer, over the next few months a few more convertibles are going to be popping up for sale, so we thought we would begin to start searching now to buy as prices tend to dip in winter for convertibles (so I'm told?).

We are looking at the older end of the supercar/sportcar market, just for us to have a drive around on a dry weekend, or take for a weekend away. Won't be doing track days, and will be garaged if need trickle charging or anything.

Simple criteria:

2 Seats
Spider/Convertible/Cabriolet - whatever you want to call it
Feel 'special' and a sense of occasion.


My list is forever growing, and the budget has now crept up to around £80-£90k as I keep looking! I know no one can predict the future etc but I obviously don't want something that is going to drop like a stone so something fairly stable in value would be great.

So far I have looked at;

Ferrari 360
Ferrari F430
McLaren MP12 C
McLaren 540C
Porsche 911 - Any model convertible/targa
Aston Martin - Any model convertible
Audi R8

Any other suggestions are welcome!
