991 service costs

Bought a 991 C2 Cab last September from Mid-Sussex Porsche, a 2014 car, 18k miles, with a 2 year warranty. It’s due an intermediate service this September, which I knew when I bought the car but didn’t think too much about it as it’s basically just an oil change and a few filters. Today I’ve been quoted something in the region of £660 for this!!! I was so gobsmacked I forgot to write it down and can’t remember the precise amount.
I love the car and it’s a step on from my previous 997 but I am SO pissed off right now! I think I’m locked in to using an OPC because of the warranty. I actually live quite close to Portsmouth so will check out prices at the OPC there, but I’m not expecting any miracles!

Cheers John, that’s really helpful. If I’m reading that correctly it includes the brake fluid change and replacing tyre sealant (how necessary is that!), which takes the sting out of it a little. I wonder if those prices included VAT?If I read the thread correctly, you're due the 6 year/60,000m service at £1050. If you've been quoted £660 at mid-Sussex then they're either crazy cheap for some reason or you've been mis-quoted with the wrong car and/or service.
I'd check with them, and others, to get the best deal and to ensure the correct service is being done.

Thanks Twinfan, I appreciate your comments Sir. After I bought the car I saw the spark plugs had been missed off the 4yr service at Chester OPC in 2018, whether in error or at the last owner’s direction I don’t know. I got that sorted f.o.c. by Mid-Sussex and also got a drive belt out of them. It doesn’t have the PDCC option so reservoir replacement is n/a. and as it has only done 20k miles I can leave the filters for a later time (confirmed with the OPC).I'd check with them, and others, to get the best deal and to ensure the correct service is being done.

Fair enough, but with all those items being done at random times I'd want to try and get the car back on the correct service schedule

EDIT. Looked up the records and it was only a belt check last year so Twinfan is correct about extra work. There has been a recall on 991.1s to add a heat shield in the engine bay, and the OPC says the bumper has to come off for that. What are the chances I can get them to lose the belt replacement labour while they’re in there? Not holding my breath on that one!

So here’s an update, having spent time at an OPC today which I won’t name.
First, they quoted me wrongly, at nearly £1400 for the full 6 year work including v-belt. After I picked myself up off the floor, with glasses misting up from my face mask, I told them I’d go away and think about it.
When I got home home with the detailed quote (and clear vision) I noticed an “AS Oil Tank” was listed, along with Pentosin, which we all know is power steering fluid. On looking up the part number I found this was the PDCC reservoir aka Active Suspension Oil Tank. My car doesn’t have PDCC and I had already told them that. The mixed terminology presumably confused the service advisor... Correcting that reduced the cost by £300.
Then there was the issue of the service campaign to retrofit a heat shield, requiring bumper removal etc, and my aspiration to use the labour cost of that to offset the cost of fitting the drive belt. I was told Porsche GB won’t credit the OPC the full cost of the labour if the work is being undertaken at the same time as a scheduled service - surprise, surprise - but they did agree a small consideration, the end result of which is a revised quote a few pennies short of £1010.
So I’m going with this. The OPC is close to home and the logistics of going elsewhere aren’t compelling. As someone said above, it equates to about £500 per year which at least is a bit more palatable than the initial quote.

Mine was £1,050 for a 2014 C2 Coupe 20k miles at an OPC in Feb. Think of it as £500 per year, as it’s a 2 year service schedule, and it’s not much more than Mercedes. It keeps your warranty which in my opinion is worth the cost.
