Italian AutoStrada auto camera speeding fines... anyone?

I may have ‘accidentally’ gone through a couple of speed traps on an autostrada yesterday.
Saw a speed reduction sign for a bridge, but didn’t realise there was a camera box situated at the bridge itself. Went through a bit hot not really even realising that the reduction was for all vehicles. No idea why there was a reduction, it wasn’t a hazard In my eyes. Actually thought the reduction might be for lorries.
Bit on the return trip I realised Italian drivers were slowing right down for the camera itself ( but otherwise ignoring the actual speed limit....).

So if the camera was operational (no reason to think it wasn’t), anyone had experience with how these are administered and fines collected? Or how harsh the penalty is likely to be? Can I get points for this?

You won't get points and Italian camera offences are processed really slowly ,they have 12 months to issue it

and usually take that long to do so .

You haven't said what car but I'm assuming a UK reg car.

In my experience, if you ever get anything from the Italian Police, you should file it in the round filing cabinet to the side of your desk and forget about it.

In a similar position myself after returning from a big trip a few weeks back.

Know that I set of cameras (3) in Germany, a couple in Croatia and then from refusing to pay a fine for not displaying a vignette in Slovenia (had to leave details in person/license confiscated - DVLA supplies new one a few days later).

Can I file all of these in the round bin if they arrive (Mrs owns the car), if they materialise that is?
