Wi-Fi Router v Wi-Fi Mesh?

I'm thinking of getting Ultrafast broadband which if the checkers are to believed should be 150mbps.
Apparently with Ultrafast it's an OpenReach supplied modem if it's done over FTTC so I need a new router.
The choice is overwhelming and the only hard requirement is PPPoE I believe.
A TP-Link Archer AX10 looks a good option for the price and there are semi-pro things like Draytek but I was also reading the wifi mesh thread which was an interesting option that I hadn't considered before.
The house is a small 3 bed so not sure there's a significant benefit from a mesh system v what I guess are some limitations over a dedicated router?
I keep pissing about and can't decide which way to go on this.
