Related to my other post about the VW extended warranty but I thought justified a separate post;

Has anybody successfully claimed on the VW extended warranty for cam chain tensioner failure?

This is the extended warranty, not the new car warranty.

Trying to get my head around whether tensioner and chain would be covered or excluded as wear items, particularly as cars get older.

I thought they never recognised it as a fault even though they have now updated it multiple times.

Every post or article about it I've read is just either them breaking or people paying it themselves to replace just incase.

EDIT:

Just read your other post, I'm guessing you don't actually have the warranty?

If you are worried about it just get the tensioner replaced, if you do buy the warranty and it is covered and it goes pop its still going to be a hassle.
