I was just on DVLA MOT checker for the wife’s car and thought let’s see if I get the extended MOT which I don’t but noticed it says there was a recall on my car that just happened from 14th August

Anybody know what this recall is ?

Car is a 2016 335d

N57 engine chances are it will be the infamous EGR cooler. If it has been checked previously and got the all clear it will now need replacing.

Mine’s showing too, so I suspect a letter won’t be far behind.

It had an EGR recall last year, and I think I took it in November when it was due a service.

I didn’t get the impression that anything had been replaced, so I guess it was just a check.

3 hours if waiting or thereabouts, the work itself takes abotu 1.5 hours.

Be warned some have experienced issues with turbos, inlet manifolds and the EGR valve (as the cooler now comes seperate to the valve).

Had letter too-refers to the cooler of the EGR module may have a leak which in rare cases may cause melting of the intake manifold and in extreme cases may cause a fire....

I take it there’s no courtesy cars at the moment ?

It certainly doesn’t show as an option when booking a service.

Down to individual dealers, mine have got them, but like anything it is about 3-4 weeks if not more than if you do not need one.

That being said a tip from my dealer (depending on stock), is if they have a manual in as most people are now demanding autos even for loan cars. All I wanted was something to keep me on the road whilst mine was in.
