Flapper ecu differences
Discussion
Hi all .. do any of you knowledgable wedge owners know if there were any differences in the ECUs fitted to the flapper cars?
I have a 350i in from another garage with running issues which appears to be a series of minor issues which are now sorted (vacuum register on the fuel regulator not weakening/reducing line pressure, timing 10 deg retarded, plugs fouled, etc) and one big issue, which after extensive testing the only thing I can think of now is the ecu.
These things are rare, so does anyone know if there are any differences in the flapper ECUs fitted to 350,390,420 ie can I buy a ecu from a 390 knowing that electrically they are all the same?
I understand there were injector and airflow meter changes but did tvr actually tinker with the electronics inside which makes the ECU model specific?
any help appreciated, cheers all.

My understanding is the ECU's are the same IF they were running standard Rover AFM and injectors. Many of the 390SE's were fitted with the larger jaguar AFM and standard injectors, and others had both the Jag AFM and Jag injectors. ECU's had different resistors fitted, depending upon the components used on the EFi system. I know that Mark Adams did change resistors on my 390SE ECU when I changed to the larger Jag AFM. A few hours on the rolling road plus the AFM and ECU upgrade increased power from 219bhp to 247bhp.....
Mark Adams is the guy who knows most about the 14CU.

Most issues used to be dry solder joints in the ECU or issues with tracking in the AFM, also running out of CO adjustment on the screw.
