Hi

I've got a 2006 Passat B6 2.0 tdi.

Last night the key fob would not work, the dashboard had no power and I had to use the physical key to get into the car. First I thought it must be a dead battery so got jump leads at the ready and I popped open my bonnet/hood. As soon as I lifted the bonnet up my car alarm goes off for 2 seconds then off and I noticed the led light on the driver's door blink, looked inside and the dashboard had power. So I tried the key fob to lock and open the door which worked fine and then started the car up. The car started up fine, no hesitation at all, and no warning lights. Drove the car home from my parent's which was about an hour's drive on the motorway. Got home and locked the car up as usual with the central locking, all fine. An hour later even tried unlocking and opening the door with the fob and starting the car up, all fine. The only odd thing that happened before this was that the car alarm was triggered yesterday and the alarm went off two or three times and stopped. I never realized it was my car so never went out to check it. The car started up fine today as well but I did notice the clock had reset to 00.00 even though I had reset the time yesterday once the car was running. Any suggestions as to why the car seemed dead and then come to life from opening the bonnet would be most welcome.

Thanks
