Anyone used to play Tony Hawks back in the day? Was a quality game, pondering whether to pick it up when it comes out on PS4, thoughts?

Given the family i rarely get game time so can't do much storyline games etc, has to be pick up and play/drop nowadays.

I spent many hours on them when I was younger! Think I'll be getting it!

I played Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 obsessively when it came out, I must have been about 11 and it was just great. Played it a few years ago on my Mac and it was still great.

Made a mistake of buying Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5 on PS4 a few years ago for £8 and never been so disappointed in a game. Absolute tosh. I'm over 30 now so I'm to exactly the games target market but it was just a glitchy mess.

Have you played the demo that comes with the pre-order?

Saw an advert for the pre-order with the old Warehouse level, such nostalgia hehe

Sadly as much as I loved the series (or at least, I played 1, 2 and 3 to death) I have a feeling that this might be best left as nostalgia, the ridiculousness of all the tricks and combos etc. was so at odds with actual skateboarding, and I found I enjoyed Skate far more when that came out and it sort of changed my perspective a bit.

One thing it definitely won't do is encourage me to get a skatebaord again, I still have the shin scars from my teenage years hehe

No, my work has some what ramped up massively over the last few months and I haven't had the chance to even turn the Xbox on hehe

Got a couple of weeks booked off just after this comes out so will be all over it then lol

Only issue is Tony Hawks will drop around same time as COD 2020 so may be a choice on what to pick. I do worry the nostalgia will wear off soon.

Never played the original Pro Skaters, my first one was Underground 2, so will definitely be getting this when it comes out.

Looks like the demo has been removed from the PS store

I was playing the demo on x-box over the weekend. Don’t know if ps store is the same but it was listed under ‘warehouse demo’

I really enjoyed playing the demo, the classic warehouse level was just as I remember it. I’m really not a ‘gamer’ but kept me entertained, but felt done after 30mins. I know it’s only a one level demo, I don’t know how the full version would keep me. Definitely harder than I remember, maybe it’s because I played the original so much, but I cancelled my pre order after the demo. maybe hold off and see what I think in a few weeks

I don't know if you will get bored or not, but there are loads of challenges and trophies to work on. It's quite a big game.

Pre ordered this on the Xbox - just an awesome, awesome remake of a legendary game.
The goals are still the same, so those who wasted most of their 20's playing the original and still have memory wont find it too hard, but the detail in the graphics, the controls, the music - its just sublime.
Hopefully some form of DLC / expansion might come of it, even if it doesn't I'm stoked.

Got this on Wednesday. Just how I remembered it when I was younger! Already stuck on the level after the skate park comp on thps1 and stuck on the high school on thps 2 laugh

Might have to resort to YouTube walkthroughs, didn’t have that privilege when used to play

Got this on the PC and I've been playing it through the past couple evenings. So much fun and so simple. Also bloody frustrating at times hehe
Trying to 100% the level that's a downhill run with all the water pipes/valves, total nightmare and may have had a minor rage quit. Really enjoying it though.
