Do you mean 'extender'? If so I suspect there are hundreds of them laying around, they fail so rapidly most owners have reconfigured so that they are no longer needed

Yes, I have some original TVR ones, from well before the recent batches of fakes.
Not as shiny as the picture above, but working.
Email me your address and i will post one.
Is one all you need?

Yes, I mean the extender Bob - they seem to have several names. Car developed a misfire and one is barely able to hang onto the plug. Thought I'd try the cheap 'n' cheerful route first.

Coincidentally I've just finished reading Dave's excellent post of Bosch Injectors, but I'm praying my expenditure doesn't run to requiring that at the mo!

PM sent Anthony.

Thank you

If the extender isn't fitting onto the plug are you sure it's a fault with the extender and not an issue with fitting it. I've found them tricky to fit in the past especially with the back plugs. Test it on a spare plug.

It's not helped that the plugs are set at an angle. I made up a bent pipe tool to fit over the extender and help push them on. I also filed down the badly fitted rivet that was sticking proud by 10mm or so which dug into my hand while trying to push against the side of the panel.

Best thing you can ever do is remove them.
There are literally hundreds of threads on it, most choose to fit a set of inexpensive leads with angled ends and maybe some heat protection.

I currently need a set of 8 of these, does anyone know where to get some?

The car developed a misfire and the local garage has serviced it, replaced the leads and plugs etc. but they couldn't get any spark plug extenders. Currently the car is running fine (no misfires) but I have no extenders and the mechanic was concerned that without them the heat from the engine will damage the leads.

Note:
https://partsfortvrs.com/tvr-parts/part-details/tv... are out of stock
www.racetechdirect.co.uk don''t even list them

Just use socks over the plug leads and resistive plugs then make sure the leads are secured uptight enough so they can’t turn or sag down onto manifolds.
Should last years if done properly.
This does away with the troublesome extenders which often fail and give misfires

Leads with angled ends are the way forward so they can be kept away from the manifolds.
Sorry I can't link you to a set but don't pay any more than around £30 for them.
A spare set is handy too.
A lot if the land rover 4x4 parts places sell them.

As mentioned the correct angled caps are important.
Usually if they are Tvr dealer installed ones or indeed just the correct ones they are already the correct set for our RV8 powered Tvr. It might be worth checking your caps will indeed work ok. With socks using the correct angled cap on the correct plug becomes even more important so do check.
Do it right and they do insulate the leads well in my experience.
You can always go ceramic but that’s a whole new ball game. wink
