More than nine tonnes of waste was removed by the council’s environmental waste team - including mattresses, drug paraphernalia, human faeces, out of date food and large quantities of clothes and children’s toys.

Dozens of high-value bicycles were also found at the site as well as bicycle parts which it is believed were being used to make hybrid machines.

According to Slough Borough Council, the bicycles are believed to have been stolen.
Blimey.

You must remember, it’s just a small percentage of wrong ‘uns.

“The people living at the site were given help and advice by the housing team at the council.”

That’ll help.

A couple of years ago there was an illegal encampment next to the west bound side of the A40 at Perivale, adjacent to the BP garage. All the rubbish they were collecting for cash was just dumped in and around the caravans, when they eventually upped and left the height of the pile must have been 15ft in places, 9 tonnes would have just been the start of that lot.

Ah.

So, legal fly tipping.

"How is it legal?"
"Did anyone get fined?"

Had an encampment near hear last year - only there about ten days - the land owners had to remove 40 tonnes of waste they'd left behind

I have no idea, I just used to see the pile grow each time I popped to the garage next door. I would imagine it was left to the landowner to clear up, a large fence now secures the area which I think was a carpark for a restaurant.

I drive the train right past that route. The amount of bikes that have appeared in the last few months have been stupid.

Apparently you get a lot of P Way workers (track workers in laymans) appear right at 06.01am..... which obviously means you need to sound the horn for them...... Or so I've heard. Can't comment on that myself ...

To be fair, it looks like it actually is Slough.

It is a big problem. A client had squatters break in to a warehouse, whilst they were evicted within a couple of days by that time we the unit was full of building waste including asbestos that needed to be disposed off.

Mind you that bill was nothing compared to the cost of clearing a unit let to a “recycling “ company that went bust.

Its the Eton side of the jubilee river, almost a stones throw from Eton golf course.

They were under the Slough Central spurs from the A322 that heads to J6 M4

I think it's been there a while. I'm sure I saw that squat around 9 months ago when I visited Windsor, driving in from the M4, Unless there are others in the area.

Surely they could operate within environmental standards and the law in the waste disposal and surfacing industries
