CHARGING in France, Switzerland and Italy - charging cards??
Discussion
Hi there, so after chickening out of driving the ipace on holiday to italy earlier in the summer I might have to do a trip in September and I think I will try it, it seemed there was lots of charging around especially in Switzerland and also France.
I just wondered from the more experienced types if I need to join any networks or have any membership cards, I do have the shell one which I think works in France?
Many thanks indeed for any pointers

Is it the Shell Recharge/Newmotion one? That one has great coverage in Europe, also in Switserland. You can check the newmotion website to get a map. Don't forget to put on the filters "with newmotion" and the charge rate.

by the way the best answer will be to check routes on A Better Route Planner (APRB) app or website and see what it throws up in terms of charging stations and access requirements.
This, https://abetterrouteplanner.com/ is your go to for any road trip planning exercises. It's also fun to switch the parameters and see how other EV's would fare
(it sounds less fun when I said it out loud though).ZesPak said:

Thanks i will definately do some planning, I just want to try and avoid planning to charge and then getting there only to find i should have joined some network or have some charging cards.....meaning extended searching and range stressssssss thanks indeed !!It's also fun to switch the parameters and see how other EV's would fare
(it sounds less fun when I said it out loud though).I recently took the Etron down to Dordogne and I found 'Chargemap' App very good, and also subcribed to their card to enable me to pay via that. I also have an Ionity App/account (which I generally find to be by far the best) apart from the fact they take £67 every time you connect, and then reimburse any monies you spend less upto 28 days later (although generally within a couple of days). The latter becomes a but of a pain when sometimes their charges dont wont once you've connected so you need to reconnect again, so they charge twice, three times, etc, etc.
