Treat time! Will need 4 doors. Big bhp. Daily drive. £45K.
Discussion
Ok so we have £45K or fractionally more, for a used saloon or 4 door coupe with 500+ bhp but reliable as a daily or nearly daily drive.
I am thinking E Class AMG with that amazing sounding 604 bhp engine and stunning 9 speed auto box. Is it fair to say that car has no real competition in this instance? Or is there a left field suggestion you can bowl this way?

VXR8 GTS 585 a proper drivers car with space to spare & they're also doing well depreciation wise too then you add in the very sensible maintenance costs & you have yourself a very good set of wheels.

XJR 575 if you want a big drivers saloon then you'll be hard pressed to beat this it may not be as good on the infotainment as others but it's a great steer.

Except this one is a claimed 850bhp and 1000Nm. And a manual.wibble.
I went and bought the ''safe/boring'' option, much to my son's disappointment as he had located me an Aston Martin DB9 V12 from 2005 barely run in. (12 mpg and V12 running costs went against it).
I have a pristine BMW M4. 2018, low miles, one owner and the re-map i would have been looking to do already done. White, 525bhp, sports exhaust. One drive and i was convinced. Ferking hell it's fast for a 3 litre straight 6.

I had to chuckle at my lad's text just now. "Ferking fast? What did you expect with more BHP than my boss's Ferrari 430 Scuderia?".
That's a fair point! We really are spoiled with these modern engines, useable, quite economical, reliable as a daily driver and huge power outputs. My son's in-laws have a BMW X5M as a company car, 616 bhp as standard, bloody crazy for what looks like a shopping/holiday car/children carrier.
