I caught a cold during lockdown, how did that happen

Seriously, undoubtedly a cold, not hay-fever and not CV-19!
No idea how, the amount of handwashing/sanitising I've done and the few times I've left the house. Been working from home since early March, all shopping home delivered etc
I can only think it came from my daughter who is 8, but she has only seen a handful of friends and of the other people I have met - and that isnt many, none have reported having a cold. My wife and daughter also seem to have escaped. Just goes to show how easily viruses spread, could have easily been CV-19 but then I had that in early March so no risk there(probably).

Which is why lockdown was never going to anything but delay the peak of Covid. Unless we get a vaccine we are all catching it until there is herd immunity..

If you count up the number of things you come into contact with on a daily basis that have come into contact with other people then it becomes less surprising.
Take just one example of the shopping since it’s mentioned in the OP and since even ultimate shielders need to receive food. The bags you receive were handled by the delivery driver; they were also handled by the person/people who loaded up the van that morning. Then you have individual items that were handled by pickers in the warehouse which were previously handled by the suppliers earlier on in the chain. So in that (to you) single interaction you have potentially come into contact with microbes shed from, what? Dozens of people?
