Nvidia Shield - cure for slow Sony TV ?
Discussion
Our 2016 Sony 4 K TV still has a lovely picture, but using it has become very tedious because of the monumental lag in the OS.
Takes maybe 10 seconds to respond to a button press for the menu for instance if it's just woken up. I've tried factory reset (worked for a few days), and stopping all the bloatware (didn't really improve things).
It's sort of like the old days when you had to leave a telly to literally warm up.... Ahh, nostalgia....
It's at the point where the TV is almost non functional.
So I was thinking of a Nvidia Shield to handle all the smart stuff, and simply use the Sony screen for display.
Anyone with experience of Shields, or alternatives ?
Will it make using the TV a crisp and easy experience ???
Cheers all.
