So, Mrs V has been made redundant - we knew it was coming and not a COVID thing.

And she’s been looking around applying for the odd things that interest her and fit her experiences, we weren’t desperate as her leave package was good enough.

Anyway yesterday she was offered a far more local job, a step up for her (she’s the higher earner already) and a great role and title to retire from.

It’s not 6 figures but it is over the higher rate of tax threshold and could be up to of halfway there, so we are wondering the most tax efficient split between pension salary sacrifice and take home pay.

Can anyone advise or have a handy little calc they use / know of.

Many Thanks.

V.

Just to mention that it would also depend on the pension scheme offered by the new employer. Different schemes have different rules and contribution tiers/rates.

Listen to Taxman is also a useful site if you want to play around with different numbers.
