Hi Ladies and Gents,

I’m looking to go for that jump V8 to V12. Unfortunately there’s really no V12 here to test drive in Australia.

I’m interested in a car like this:
https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/10682262?c...

I was wondering what our fellow Aston owners think? Willing to go through the import process.

I’ve been mulling over a Lambo or Ferrari for that inner child that wants to shout... test drove a few including F12 and F8. Decided I need a V12 NA ...

Kind regards
CheckSix

Have you imported a car to Australia before? Not a trivial exercise.

Happy to chat and give you some details. PM me and I can give background.

Ouch. More than £100,000 lost in 2 years.
Enough now for the very best V12V available.
Ticking options can be very costly for first owners.

I don’t want to hijack this thread and swerve off piste too far, but that £100k loss (assuming it sells for the asking price) is probably how much the long list of options cost. It takes some real determination to get to £240k! It’s a lovely car and is well known amongst the AM community, and it has been up for sale on and off several times recently. Personally, I really like the exterior paint job, but I’m not a big fan of the interior. Good luck to the seller though. It’s definitely a special car. Back to the OPs query, I guess if there are none to be found in your neck of the woods, perhaps the only option is to import one from the UK. There are still a few for sale here, both original six speed, and later seven speed S versions, but the supply definitely seems to be dwindling. Good luck with your search. I hope the process doesn’t prove to be too difficult or too costly. I can’t see you being disappointed with any variant of the V12V.

where are you in Australia, happy to talk, show, take you for a drive if you are in Qld

I agree with previous post - very difficult to get one of these imported into Australia unless you have lived overseas with it in your ownership for more than 12 months

I gave up on waiting for a manual and eventually bought a V12VS which is just brilliant - of the two on car sales at the moment the cheaper one looks to be good value

good luck with your search

Spot on. Or if you have a V12V in physical possession with an NSW permit to import in your possession too, then it's different...

I'm based in Perth and was doing a week in Melbourne every month until the shut down. I would often be in Gold Coast too... so thanks for your generous offer Graeme! biggrin

I don't mind the external colour of the car in question but you are right I have already asked a local shop to see if they can do something about the interior.

Thanks JohnG1, I am inquiring about the importation with 2 different companies (1 in Perth, 1 in Melbourne)… and it looks like I may be in luck as the V12 vantage has been added onto the green list (very recently?).

If I can't get a manual V12 I would prefer to an F12. Unfortunately none of the new century Aston Martins do it for me frown

This is my car, now further reduced to sell. Would keep it if I could.

Love that car, it’ll feel special for decades to come.
One to buy and keep for someone fortunate enough.

If you are after the V12 Vantage S in manual, importing is probably your only route, I don’t think I’ve ever seen one in the used market here (also a fellow Aussie!).

The older V12 or DBS in manual should be a little easier to get a local one, usually you see 1 or 2 Australian delivered cars show up each year.

Hi VULCANT

I just messaged you via the PistonHeads.

Looking forward to a chat!

It's a little reassuring that the car is known to the good folks on here!
