"Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny is unconscious in hospital suffering from suspected poisoning, his spokeswoman has said.
The anti-corruption campaigner fell ill during a flight and the plane made an emergency landing in Omsk, Kira Yarmysh said, adding that they suspected something had been mixed into his tea.
The hospital said Mr Navalny was in a stable but serious condition.
Mr Navalny, 44, is a staunch critic of President Vladimir Putin."

Here we go again, it will be interesting to see how this one pans out.

I haven't noticed any of our opposition leaders being murdered, except perhaps Corbyn at PMQs, so overall no.

Sadly I'm not too optimistic for this chap. He is a staunch critic of Putin and his working practices.

Twice in the past he has gone to jail for his "crimes" but still speaks out about corruption in Russia. I suspect someone has taken a decision that jail does not stop him so the tactics have changed.

Dianne Abbot used to act like she was poisoned at times I think her poisioning was more the work or Gordon's (or Hendricks or Bombay) than the FSB. :P

If he has been poisoned they will find out what it was and there will likely be a connection to Russian intelligence. They want the world to know these kinds of things happen if you cross the Kremlin.

I recently finished listening to Putins People by Catherine Belton and would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn about Putin's rise to wealth and power.

Intelligence Officer and Spy are two different things.

Intelligence Officers work for you and collect intelligence for you. Spies work for the other side, but collect intelligence for you (and vice versa).
