Factory Time codes - how to decipher?

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me how the time codes stand (Repair Operation Time) in the workshop manuals can be decoded?

For instance, in my DB9 manual, it has front wing removal (RHD) stated as 01.02.LB, and engine removal as 03.00.AA

Why can't they just quote 3hours or something!!!
