Apple iWatch - cracked screen?

Missus has had a iWatch series 5 for a few months. Unfortunately, it fell out of her pocket at work (shes not permitted to wear watches/rings etc when treating patients) and hit the floor..... Screen is shattered/sharp but the touch screen digitizer still seems to works fine

Apple want £280+ for a new screen, seeing as it cost £299 hardly seems worth it. Couple of repairers on Ebay are quoting £70-80 which is more reasonable, one has 100% on 400+ reviews. Anyone have any experience of a repair?
