A very general question and probably likely to be met with contempt from music fans.
I do not listen enough to Horrify to commit to paying the monthly fee and I am a tight git who resents paying twice for stuff I already have!! but it's very convenient on a lazy morning in bed with the PS4 on!!
But I have noticed a weird trend recently, I am sure the ad timer was based on the length of time you listened to any songs say 15 minutes of song time say, but now if I skip tracks I can get ads 30 bloody seconds after the last lot, so it seems to be based on numbers of songs "listened" to regardless of time than the actual time spent listening to them?
if that makes sense.

It's all about how much use the service will get for me. I bought one CD from Amazon last month at £15.99. I've listened to approximately 10 albums and countless playlists last month on Spotify. It cost me less than the one CD I bought. I also pay for Netflix but my family and I watch dozens of TV shows each month so again, it's worth it. I'm currently using a free trial of Amazon Prime. I can't justify the cost (as little as it is) because I don't use the Prime TV, I don't need the music as I have Spotify and I don't buy enough stuff to make the free next day delivery worth while. If you're using Spotify enough, you won't miss £9.99.
Family premium package, 15 quid for 6 users !!! Absolute no-brainer. It's certainly helped me to listen to a far wider variety of music that I probably wouldn't have done if I had to buy the cd to do so. My son pays the £15 and we all have a direct payment set up to pay him, £3 a month for a world of music, brilliant !

The free version used to be an ad after every 5 songs in answer to your original question.I do not listen enough to Horrify to commit to paying the monthly fee and I am a tight git who resents paying twice for stuff I already have!! but it's very convenient on a lazy morning in bed with the PS4 on!!

As others have pointed out, even at a tenner it's exceptional value. I pay for the family membership and to be honest if it doubled I'd keep paying for it. I love the service.
