hello i finally did it ,i upgraded from those dreadful outdated standard titchy 5 spoke alloys,and boy does it look good if isay so myself.they r 17 inch shadow chrome jobbies(not too bling!!!)they really suit the car and am afraid if i put photo and details u will all b wanting some then it wont b special and different!!! i had trouble with the front tyre sizes which nobody seems to have mentioned in other threads.i had to have 205/40/17 on front as with a higher profile the tyre would have rubbed on the the inside of wheel arch on left or to b more exact ,it would rub on the glassfibre shell holding battery in place.i will put a pic on my profile when i can(im not so hot with "puters)i would put a pic on here now but i have no idea!!

Glad to hear that you've got your wheels but there appears to be something wrong with your car. Given that the Chim started life with 205/60/15s at the front then a 215/45/17 should fit fine being a smaller diameter. As most people stick with Griff sizes then 215/40/15 is the normal choice. Clearance shouldn't be an issue. This rubbing problem occured with a Wedge a few months ago and turned out to be tie rods overtightened and so shortened. Worth a full suspension check because it just doesn't make sense. JR

My battery 'bulge' was damaged somewhat by the original std wheels/tyres! I chopped it out, and swapped the battery & fusebox around. COG is lowered & battery is accessible now, little less legroom for copilot (tough!)

Not bad - I really like what the size of the wheels do for the look of the car. Jury's out on the design, but that's just my opinion. But certainly beats the standard 5-spokers.
