Easy accounts package

Hi Everyone,

Looking for some input here. I run a micro business, no stock, no employees etc, just me as a LTD company. I am really, really bad at keeping track of everything and when I get to give all the data to my accountant it is always troublesome. All I am looking to do is:

Record all the transactions in an account friendly way
Give a status report (income v expenditure)
Scan/photogragh invoices in a HMRC approved way.

Then be able to pass all this to the accountant.

Does such a tool exist? I am not looking to spend large on this as I dont have huge amounts of transactions btw. Mostly its a few large inbound payments and then payments out for just mundane business expenses.

Either spend £24 a month on something like Xero or do it for nothing on a Excel spreadsheet. It helps to keep track of things if you have a separate credit card for business expenditure & charge everything to that.

Are you VAT registered?

If it’s simply you and a bank account is it much more than an Excel tab for income and a tab for expenses?

Keep an electronic folder (with monthly subfolders if needed) of receipt scans.

Then either hand this over to your accountant or help them with a summary tab or two?

Automatically imports your bank transactions every night, you can send HMRC vat returns from it, your accountant can have a login so you never have to send them anything. Dead easy to use even for a non accountant.
