Hi,
Looking to add remote locking to a 2008 Polo 5 door. It has central locking.

Is there an easy and cheap way to do this? Electrical stuff would trouble me so not sure I could DIY it

Any idea on cost for having someone do it?

Most searches are coming up with remote central locking kits which I don’t need

Cheers
Adam

Are you sure it hasn't already got it?

I'd wager the fob key has been lost and you've got the spare 'dumb' key as every VW I've owned since the 90's has had RCL.

People on the VW Audi forum reported some success using a Right Click branded control unit to add the remote capability to the OEM central locking.

The universal remote locking kits are easy to wire. You only need to tap into the lock/unlock wires and a permanently live wire. There are usually a few other wires for hazards/horn but you don't need to wire these in.

I haven't done it on a VW myself but I got the impression that at least some of them use a single wire control system.
