718 GT4 Clubsport - cost/residual question?
Discussion
Clubsport is so expensive now (£2700) I suspect many cars won’t be spec’d with it unless they are going to be used very regular on track. Most extras depreciate significantly when a car is registered but suspect CS may remain highly desirable long term and as such Interested in What people’s thoughts are re where CS equipped cars will be in future pecking order/more saleable and still worth the thick end of the extra cost outlay when new or not?

Spec what you need and like, not for future retail. I’ve ordered CS as I like the extra safety and rigidity. I’ll use the car for WE and occasional track use.
I am spec’ing what I like and I like CS But my point is that it’s a lot of £ now and wonder if that’s just going to be “gone” or possibly provide a future upside The 981 doesn't carry a major premium over cost for cs and doubtful whether the 718 will either.
Added to that the disadvantages with extra weight and creak/pings plus the rip off cost and unless you track regularly def not worth it imo but as others had said spec whats right for you. Depends how long you intend to keep the car too.
Interestingly Walter Rohrl reckoned the cage upset the balance of the 981 GT4 not that most of us lesser driving gods would notice but food for thought and another minus overall nontheless.

Just feel it makes the car a bit more special.
I always expect to lose money on new car purchases, if I don’t lose any here, great, if I do, well that’s just the price of the fun I’ve had in it.

As a buyer looking at used Gt4 cars I am not bothered if it has CS or not. If it does then I would be happy to buy it and maybe pay a small premium of up to £500 for it But the rest of the spec must be good as well
Not like this one, which is now know as the jellytot spec due to interior colour choice

Love the jellytot spec. Got bags of personality and fun in the cabin. But the rest of the spec must be good as well

it's over list ?
there are cars £4k below list now. and there is zero point in a comfort spec car now the GTS has the 4.0l engine.
That was my worry surely if you want a GT4 it MUST have Buckets.there are cars £4k below list now. and there is zero point in a comfort spec car now the GTS has the 4.0l engine.
What cars are below list by £4K. I really struggle to work out what list as so can have so many options

This is the cheapest one I have found with buckets , I think it is below list but I may be wrong

Yeah, it's a couple of grand under list that. OPC Sheffield currently have three in stock, don't seem to be selling, was having a nose around that car when I went to place my GT4 order. This is the cheapest one I have found with buckets , I think it is below list but I may be wrong

I think they'll still hold value well, its just that the flipper market may be dead. (Good, always hated price gouging).
