The 992 is not a car that needs to look bigger in any proportion. I know what you mean the width combined with that low spoiler make it looking square.

Why are rear spoilers being held from above these days rather than attached from underneath? Is it an aero thing?

I’d suggest it’s because that’s how many of the racing sports cars now connect their rear wings, ergo looks racy, as much as anything. Irrespective of any increase in downforce or possible weight saving.

Ah ok thanks thanks makes sense -so just lifting the ideas seen on latest race cars as they have decided that’s the way to go but as you say little translation for road driving! As the Touring model shows/will show, the rear wing is not necessary at all is is? I’m guessing that has some extra under body aero instead

It is what it is, a razor sharp track weapon that you drive there and back in (rather than tow on a trailer). I’m sure Chris Harris will be smiling when we get to see the reviews.

Swan neck = efficiency so more downforce less drag.
The air passing under the wing is cleaner.

So circa 13% increase in neg lift and less drag, win win.

It’s as simple as that , not a trend of a fad.

Are you thinking of getting one David as i suspect it'll be easier to get a 992GT3 as a lot of the flippers have had their fingers burnt on the 718GT4 etc

No, not interested in the 992 at all, or any cars with ppf.
I don’t want more tech, I don’t like the interior, the GT3 looks ugly imo and the 991.2 is more than anything I would ever need.
Also it weighs more.

Rather buy some BBs wheels and TTx shocks I am after a 3000lbs car.

Swan neck imo should have been on the 718 GT4 and 992 RS.
Not the normal GT3. But I don’t like anything about the 992 bar those light weight wheels, but then they have gone 21” rears :-( , so more weight again where it’s not wanted.

991.2 Manual is the bestdrivers car made today.
With the manual, the GT3 has a mechanical locking diff also and less rear steer, And just enough of every thing to be perfect, it’s the best GT3 ever made imo and the best looking.

I've never mentioned any expression of interest in the 992GT3 to my OPC in any shape or form..However if i was offered an allocation i'd get a Touring this time and keep my RS..992 Touring and 991.2GT3 RS WP would make a perfect pair of Porsches in the garage..
It'll be typically brilliant as Porsche like Ferrari never ever go backwards..!

They are going backwards in weight, size, noise, , only forward in lap times and tech which it pointless.

You know I don’t like the T “Who wants a circumcised PorscheGT3 .? "

People say the 981 and 718 are going forwards over my 987.2 Spyder, but all for the wrong reasons.

I'm on list with Dick Lovett Swindon. At £125k-£135k I'd buy in PTS spec voodoo or maritime and flip it. Every other OPC salesman has so why not me? What makes me laugh is they give the amazing cars to people they regard as VIP type customers. Those with no gearing and who spend less than they earn are going to be a tough audience for new car dealers. The other funny conversation was with a Mcl salesman on 765LT. You need to be an existing owner. Where have I heard that one. smile

Winters coming boys. Its going to be a cold one....
How cold this winter turns out to be will be 100% in the control on how severe the much mooted second wave will be..There is growing evidence that its going to to be very serious possibly resulting in another national lockdown from October until January..Couple that with the unthinkable scenario of a no deal Brexit......yikes
