Hi guys, please can I ask for some help based on being in love with a spec but having no clue how to define it.

What I want is a E39 5 Series. Minimum 30i. I'm certain what I want is the Sport trim, the deep dish wheels that I believe are M sport (5 split spoke design) and most important to me the Alcantara or Cloth Sports Seats. I'm not the best at explaining myself this is just what I want. Does that make sense? Can anyine help with the best way to find this. Every car I see seems to have leather so is what I want even an option?

What you want is a Japanese import BMW E39 530i Sport, saloon or touring IMO

The Alcantara interior is fairly rare for UK cars, but very popular for Jap import E39s, all RHD / UK correct too

The alloys you’re mentioned are Style 37 ‘Parallel’ alloys

You need to look at the usual suspects (eBay, Pistonheads, AutoTrader, Facebook) but also seek out specialists like GSM Cars, Hexagon Classics and Old Colonel Cars, for an example.

I myself, and a few others, have Jap import E39s and swear by them. You’ll pay a premium, but in that you’ll get a low mileage, corrosion free example that you’d never get in the UK.

FYI my project for my E39 is here:

A picture of mine when it was on the Style 37 alloys:

Oh mate, thank you that's so helpful. I really appreciate it. Also your car is exactly what I mean! That's my Sunday sorted. Thank you again, really good of you.

Haha no worries wink

Hope your budget is healthy as the Jap import versions of the E39s always have a premium; but they're worth it IMO and they'll keep good resale values too if looked after
