Trying to get to the bottom of this without resorting to a dealer [small](who must have the info I need)[/small].

My car 'died' last Sunday in the unrelenting sun :(

F19 (labelled as 'Fuel Injectors') has blown, and is somehow stopping the fuel pump from priming / running.
The fuel pump fuse (and relay, and pump itself) are fine.

I know it's not the injectors, as I have disconnected them all (and measured their resistances), and the fuse still blows.
I know it's not the engine loom, as I've disconnected this (inside the engine bay) and the fuse still blows.

What else does this fuse supply?
Anyone?

Thought it might be the immobiliser, as the fuse only blows when the fob button is pressed, but without stripping the whole dash out, and without any info (it's not like you can just buy a Haynes Manual and follow the wiring diagram!), I'm a bit lost.

does sound like it's the immobiliser if it only blows when you press the fob.

where is the immobiliser earthed? is there an earth leak or is it shorting onto something (wire come loose)?

before the immobiler is deactivated, is there a power supply to the starter?

apart from that I've no ideas.

why don't you ring your local main dealer and ask them for advice? I would have thought they would be friendly enough to give you the advice for free.

Good luck,
cheers

I've booked it into Austec as I really can't be arsed to be crawling around in footwells in this heat!

It needs a couple of other small niggles sorting, so might as well get it all done in one go.

I just want my car back on the road

I would have thought (hoped) that dealers were reluctant to give out info regarding immobilisers and suchlike over the phone. I mean, I could be anybody!

Nelly, I might be totally missing the point but your tyre weld hasn't rolled over the fuel cut off switch, has it, in the secret compartment in the boot?

Nope, tried that.

That wouldn't blow the fuse anyway - at least, I hope not

I don't bother with tyre weld. Waste of time from what I've read on here. Bit like a comfort blanket: you can carry one if it makes you feel better, but it doesn't actually do anything practical

Did you find out what the problem was?

Apparently it was the immobiliser!
It had been shorting out internally against the case.

Still haven't got the car back though
Waiting on a new oil pressure sender to replace the leaky one - should be monday, but I seem to have heard that one before

Neill, I had an Oil pressure sensor replaced at Castle & it's been giving false readings - apparently it's a common problem with the latest batch of components - beware...
