I was wondering, as we are nearly down to the final month before BBWF if any north east wedges wanted to travel to BBWF together.

Probable pick up points being Scotch Corner, Wooley Edge Services, Tibshelf services etc picking up fellow wedgers on the way down.

I am planning to leave Scotch corner around 8;30 and cruise to Ettington from there.

Anyone up for it?

I would like that, but my decision will have to be 'last minute'.
Such is life.

Us West Yorks Wedger's met up at Wooley Edge last year, perhaps we can all meet there again? What sort of time would you reach there?
I'm up for it just let us know.

Woolley Edge is the first pull in after the A1 - M1 link road and the M62 join the M1 so it's a good place to form a convoy. I'll be turning off the M1 at J29 across country via Ashourne and Burton on Trent if anyone fancies going along the twisties.

Seems like I've got a room now, so count me in for Wooley Edge. I like your 'cross country' idea too.
I have nightmarish visions of traffic jams on the M1, with no escape.

The main challenge for me will be getting out of bed so early

Usually, the M1 gets busy just beyond J29 as you approach the Midlands connurbation, so it's a good place to get off. Lovely roads past Matlock to Ashbourne, and the section from Burton to the A5 down the A444 is just sublime.

I'll just follow. But I like the idea of staying off the M1 for a bit.
With a bit of luck I'll be on the A1 by about 11am ish.

I think if we left scotch corner at 08:30 we could be at Wooley Edge for 09:30 - 09:45 then another 30 - 40 minutes to get to Woodall services, then on to Ettington. These timings are a bit loose to allow for people being delayed etc, but we could always push on to make up time. In my experience, driving on a Saturday AM, there is no traffic around and you can make good progress.

What do you think ?

OK.

I'll just bring the 280, and a towrope to put round your back axle.

I'm easy, sounds good if I can drag myself out of bed at that hour

Haha.

No, but I'll have to visit with you sometime, to look over your handiwork. I'm down your way every weekend.
Maybe you can mail me a contact no.

My original plan was to head down to Leicester on the Friday night to stay at Julie's pad, but it looks like by then she may have a tenant... in which case I'll be among the wedgen throng rampant upon the Queen's highway...
All this presupposes that by then I have rendered some mobility into the Esprit so I can extract the TVR from its lair. The Norfolk Turkey has died a death, and it's far from bootiful...

If everthing runs on OK, I would expect to get to Wooley Edge for 09:30 - 09:45, building in a bit of leeway so that you aren't waiting too long for us.

Alternatively nearer the time if you have a mobile we can text you when we leave Scotch Corner and then give us 50 mins to an hour to get to Wooley Edge.

Just a thought ?

All sounds very good to me, we'll be there around 9:30, we'll swap mobile numbers nearer the time?
