Any thoughts on this 981 GT4 Spec?
Discussion
I am away to look at a GT4 with the following spec
Owned privately so no OPC tax
White
65 plate
12K miles with full FSH from OPC next service due Oct 21
5 owners plus current
4 New tyres
options fitted
085 64ltr Fuel Tank
490 Sound Package Plus ( no idea what that is )
619 mobile phone prep
p11 bucket seats
p18 brushed aluminium anthracite
p23 Nav
and that your lot
Is it to basic?
Any idea what it would be worth
Any thoughts would be great as this will be the most I have spent on a car and last thing I want is Toby something that walnut sell again

Sound Package Plus is the stereo upgrade, the only one for the 981 GT4.
It's a pretty basic spec, no air con no cruise no chrono no leather dash etc although buckets are good. Don't pay too much would be my advice, as it's also had a few owners.

Does it not come with Air con as standard and you have to pay for dual climate control? Or is air con an extra ?
Cruise I never use as not many straight roads where I stay and not really likely to use this on motorway journeys
Not sure if Chrono is a big thing a sit looks like a watch / timer to me but I may be wrong
Leather on dash would be nice but I have seen cars without and I can live with that for now.
Some of the owners form the same family I believe
What would you say is a fair price that is the bit I need ore help with ?
Manual air con as standard, don’t really have a problem with it. Only went climate in the new car due to the arguments about temperature with the fiancée. Oooh. I’m cold, etc.
The one thing I’d like is the chrono, as I think you get the lap recording features and such for track days, not essential though. It’s nice that it’s got the buckets.
Check the wear on the drivers side bolster to see how well it’s been looked after/how much care has been taken. Not definitive but a good indicator.

Glad spec is not a turn off
Thanks for pointer on seat wear will pay attention to that
What do you think of as a fair price to pay?

It’s fairly low miles, but also fairly low spec wise. I would say something around £62k depending on condition. Glad spec is not a turn off

I’m sure others more knowledgeable than myself will be along shortly to correct me

As Manny says if you really do like it, go ahead and get an inspection.
Sorry, I meant climate not air con. Apologies. Manual air con is standard, climate is an option.
I think ease of future resale will depend on price. That's a fairly low spec and has to be priced as such now and in the future. Modern GT cars aren't lightweight track specials and most people would prefer some creature comforts.

I would say around 60, 63 max. Warranty definitely worth it IMO. I’m not too fussy on spec as long as it has buckets and air con.
Check the owners as 5 is a lot for the age. If they are family, why change the ownership docs?
Also check autotrader valuation tool etc.
Cheers I ad 60-62.5k in mind Check the owners as 5 is a lot for the age. If they are family, why change the ownership docs?

I think He is looking for £65k
WBAC say £57K
Autotrader private £60K
Both seem a bit low not sure the guy would go that low

WBAC prices are jokes. Auto trader tool seems quite good as it tends to reflect the market IMO. As with all the tools, they give a rough figure. Use that with real prices to come to a ball park figure you’re comfortable with. I think He is looking for £65k

Other thing is if buying from a trader, ask on here as someone may have owned it and you can find real values. That’s what I did when I brought my spyder

Great advice but this is a private sale .Other thing is if buying from a trader, ask on here as someone may have owned it and you can find real values. That’s what I did when I brought my spyder

I kind of had a figure in and I would pay or happy to walk
I think people here have just reconfirmed that for me

I'm assuming steel brakes? Being GT3 items the brakes are one of the most expensive parts to replace on the GT4.
Porsche will do a visual inspection but you should check the disc thickness and pad condition yourself. Look for excessive pad taper which can lead to other issues that the OPC inspection certainly won't see.
A lot of owners suggests it has been enjoyed then moved on at the end of each season, with maybe as little as possible spent on maintenance. But if you can get some money off then pay for an OPC warranty then you have less to worry about.

5 owners!! Is it some sort of rental car
Not uncommon in a GT car when the first 3 have probably taken a profit out of it or lost very little. Condition is everything for me and having bought a well-specced GT4 if I was buying again I'd buy one with as few options as possible to get a cheaper car as it's all about the driving experience.
I fell in to the 'must have' Sat Nav trap even though I knew it was s
t having owned a car with PCM3.1 before. The best value cars are those without it and other trinkets. Some people are dreamers on here about how cheap they think they can get a straight GT4 for. Yes trade prices are different but you're not going to get a GT4 less than £60k unless there's something wrong with it.

there are 70+ GT4 for sale some thing has to give, as 718 drop the 981 has too as the 718 isa far better car, 5 years newer and it's like having a £10k engine mod.I fell in to the 'must have' Sat Nav trap even though I knew it was s

Pay overs for a 981 or pay £5k unders for a 718 , is a no brainer. 981 are way way over valued atm.
some low spec 718 are £83 some ave spec 981 are £75k one would have to be barking mad to buy the 981 atm unless starting with a 5
