Some eye candy - lots of "optical illusions" :rotate: [small](was bored & not v.tired)[/small]

Saw [url]this|http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=188670&f=109&h=0[/url] thread by dcw@or & thought i'd post this in the p&p for everyone to see..

None of these images are actually Animated, its your EYES that make them move, if you think its some animated picture trick take a snapshot of the image your looking at & you see you will get the same effect!

Stare at each image for about 10 seconds or so, move your eyes maybe your head until you can get it working :)

Forgot this one - The squares marked A and B are both the same colour!

Even tho it seems black & white to you..



If your having doubts go into Photoshop and use the eye dropper,
both squares a & b are the colour #6B6B6B

I wonder why they appear to be moving in a particular direction, like the top one appears to be rotating clockwise. Maybe if the colors were in the opposite order?

Yes if you flip the image so the shaded parts of the blocks are on the opposite side it moves anti-clockwise.

Not so much the colours on there own but a combination of the colours & pattern. The pattern is crucial, and is emphasised by the colour. This works as the 'eye' sees certain colour 'better' than others.

Cyberhuss is quite right, they really are static images and are not moving at all, though it's actually the brain that makes them appear animated not the eyes themselves, as it struggles to sort & make sense of the information that it is receiving from the eyes.

The brain is truley remarkable but can be fooled quite easily by optical trickery.
