Ever been refused an autograph??????

I was wondering if any PH'ers have ever had a request for a famous person to sign an autograph refused.....
I read a couple of months ago this woman said she went up to Cilla Black on a train and Cilla said "Sorry 'luv I don't do autographs on a Tuesday, it's my day off".........
Mind you, it must be a real pain for the celebrity..
I remember about five years ago, one weekday, Bobby Charlton pulled up in the car park of Old Trafford one morning in his expensive BMW, and before he had even got out of the car he was surrounded by at least twenty schoolkids brandishing autograph books, and HE must have had nearly fifty years of this......:yikes:

Not so much an autograph refusal, but I bumped into Noel Gallagher in Waitrose a while back. He'd obviously had a bad day because without prompting he said "I'm 
ing sick of being hassled today". I like to think his day got slightly worse though when I said "Shift. You're in the way of the ing milk"

I was told to off by Benny from Crossroads when asked him for an autograph in our local petrol station.
The best though was my friends parents were on a cruise with there friends a few years ago. On the same ship was Rod Stewart and the lovely Rachel Hunter. My mates mum has always liked Rod so when she bumped into him on the ship she decided it would be a good oppertunity to ask for his autograph. He told her to off as we on holiday and didn't want to be bothered. This really upset my mates mom. A few days later my mates dad and his mate were drinking in one of the ships bars talking about football. Rod Stewart was standing next to them and decided to join the conversation. My dates dad but his hand up to him and said "look mate you couldn't be bothered to talk to my wife so F*CK OFF". He said this really loud so everyone could hear. I would have loved to have been there.

Once saw Charlton Heston who was really laying into celebrities who refuse to do autographs, his view was that once you decide to do the job of your choice where fame was expected it was your duty to give your fans the courtesy of an autograph. He said he signed everyone he was asked for but tried to educate people who asked for one whist taking a piss
Of all the celebrities I know...all one of them (two, if you include a friend who has been in the bill a couple of times..bloody more of a celeb than Calum 'my dad's famous' Best) I only ever speak to him when he needs something from me. Tr is so far up his own ar5e thinks the world revolves around him...then again I think most celebs do!

i work at Leeds Utd and have seen many players turn down autographs. I can understand why for some players (safety fears) but some are just tossers.
yes, it is pretty easy to injure yourself with a biro. Pen mightier than the sword and all that.
Perhaps they haven't learnt to write yet.
