Folks, I am trying to set up a webcam in order to be able to do video calls using AIM (AOL Instant Messenger). I have installed the camera and all looks well (e.g. it's clearly working and I can take photos etc).

That said, it will not work when trying to make a video call (does not properly connect). I can instant message ok, but the video call doesn't work.

I thought at first it may have been down to the firewall in my wireless router, but a mate connected to my router was able to make an AIM video call fine, so it can't be that.

What else could be stopping this from working? Any ideas?

Cheers,
gixxer.

Just a thought, but has some other application snaffled the webcam? Windows messenger, if its fired up, might just do this....

Also, check if you are actually getting a feed from the camera, by using something else(like messenger) to display the feed.

Might help...
