I’ve been looking to replace an old cheap pair of off-road boots, and was looking at Sidi Crossfires, but have seen some negative reviews on quality.
I don’t know anything about Gaerne but they do get good reviews, anybody use them?

Lots of people I know love them. Very popular in SA and with the rocks and hard terrain they stand up very well

It’s good kit but you need boots that fit you nice and with a sole that suits what you need, too grippy for racing and it’ll grab your legs when trying to slide them.
I had axio for years, leather til they wore out, then repacked with the synthetic boot, articulated ones. I tried a few at a show and went with Fox ones as they fitted best. To be fair, they’ve been excellent.

I’ve got a pair which I use for commuting, I guess they fall more into the “adventure” bracket than full offroad, but they’ve been very good, waterproof too provided you treat them regularly. Had them a few years and pre-COVID I was an all year every day commuter and they’re not showing any significant signs of wear.

I've only had two pairs of MX boots my whole adult life. Both pairs have been Gaerne. They've been fine for me.
