BMW 118i 68plate Door rattling/creaking noise?
Discussion
Hi all,
I have owned my 118i m sport (68 plate) for just over a year now, in the recent months I noticed that when driving in low speeds around 10-25mph or going over bumpy roads etc my passenger side door seems to be making noises that resemble rattling/plastic creaking?
This noise is driving me mad and screams poor build quality to me. Has anyone faced a similar problem in the past and can offer any advice/help?
Much appreciated!

Common problem, it’s most likely the door seals.
My M140i does it and has been back to BMW numerous times. It’s bad tape applied to the sills to stop the metal and seals making contact. That worked for a while but it came back and their response was to give me a cleaner and treatment and say that’s it. I now end up cleaning and treating the seals weekly now.
BMW should be able to look at it under warranty. Their seals are doggy do. The ones on my other half’s F56 MINI wore through the bloody paint and needed new seals, repainted sills and tape applied.

Thanks so much for the response! Will be getting in touch with BMW dealership for this then. My M140i does it and has been back to BMW numerous times.
