I have noticed "the tick" over the last few months, today I did a bit of investigating. looks like offside manifold is the issue - probably at the 4-1 collector (according to the paper stuck in the end of a bamboo cane). I am pretty sure the tick is not from the rockers.
How much of a job is it to fix? - not that I'll be tackling it myself, is it best to go to a decent exhaust place or TVR specialist?

When you say at the 4 into 1 do you mean the welds just before the precat? I had that issue on a spare set I bought to decat. I took them to a welder who cut them open and re welded them. He welds looked amazing and there was no signs of a leak there afterwards. Unfortunately despite marking them before cutting they never lined up again with the Y piece so I had to ditch them and start again
I would take them to someone who's done the job before not least because the manifolds can be a PITA to remove and refit.

Mine were done by Mat Smith, my TVR guy in northwest Norfolk, who did an excellent job.
Mine did fit when he put them back.
It's not an expensive job, but knowledge and experience in removing and refitting exhaust manifolds will save time and hence money, and the precision in the line up is, as said above, crucial. I would take that job to a TVR place in your area.

Answer, weld them on the car.
Also, The Tick is a pretty entertaining series to pass these lockdown times - if you have Amatakeovereverything Prime - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Tick_(2016_TV_se...

My offside manifold had already been split & welded. So when the nearside manifold started ticking i thought buy stainless.
If you go down that route i found the ACT manifold a PITA. It leaves little or no access to the No 8 spark plug.
Yes i did ask & was told no one else has had that problem ???
Go to Clive F costs a bit more but worth it.
HHC can get yours welded for around £150 plus labour costs to remove & refit.
Get your chassis top rails painted & wrapped in tape at the same time.
Plus the engine mounts, valley gasket etc the list will go on.
If for any reason you need carbon manifolds i still have mine.

its the mission creep aspect of this which concerns me - I did idly ponder the possibility of ceramic coating or wrapping the manifolds - I have read that wrapping the standard tvr manifold can be problematicIf you go down that route i found the ACT manifold a PITA.
